I dont understand why he had to take your whole van in the first place to recharge your battery. He should have taken your battery out of your car to his shop and charged it and given you a loaner battery so you could get from point a to point b in the mean time. The battery is only 8 months old!!! I would be questioning whether he gave you a bad battery in the first place. I dont care where you buy your battery from, they ALL are ATLEAST good for a year.

Secondly, if she lives close by and always go to the same mechanic he WILL remember her.

Unfortunately, if you dont have a receipt for the battery you can do nothing about the situation. Do you have a cancelled check or anything proving you paid this man money? I'm afraid to hear what he charged you $900 for. This is the very reason I do my own work. Auto repair shops are FAMOUS for screwing women over.

If you have no proof of paying this man $$ your best bet would be to find any old battery to give to AAA so you can get a new one from them. Your wires are most likely still there, he may have taken the negative wire if it was worn, but those are just as easy to replace as the battery itself. They most likely have fallen down where the battery sits making it look as tho theyre gone.

Also, it sounds like you may have a constant draw on your battery even while turned off. this is what keeps draining your battery. If you cant find what is staying on when the key is off, I suggest getting quick release terminals so you can unhook your battery while not in use easily, without having to use a wrench every time.

Sounds to me like there may be some miscommunication and /or expectations that are not in line with reality. The battery may be a cheaper one that has a short warranty and is prorated there after. Although, the battery even if under warranty, typically doesnt include labor costs. Based on the price he was to charge you (60.00), that would only cover one or the other, so it sounds like it was pretty fair what he was doing. As for the other things like the porta potty, thats somthing that you should consider evaluating if you want to keep him as your mechanic. He could not have taken off the connectors, because the van would not be running to even drive away from the shop.

some times, you have to make changes, as to your battery Im not sure what connectors he took, because they are not usually taken off that easily, I suggest you get a battery in the van, he apparently is having some difficulty with your explantation, and the fact that you do not get a written estimate for repairs is leaving you wide open for what is happening. You need to keep records, there is no way a mechanic can remember everything he does to hundreds of cars a year, That 60 dollars you decided to argue about was not the time for that conversation, especially since in his mind he is doing you a favor, I suggest that you call him apologize and get your Van put back together, THEN GET ON DOWN THE ROAD IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT. GET A RECIEPT AND always get an estimate FIRST, BEFORE WORK BEGINGS.

If you feel that you have been treated unfairly or fraudulently you should contact your state attorney generals office consumer affairs division and register a complaint. They are there to handle these sorts of situations. The phone call is free and they are there to help the public. Good luck to you.

Replace the hose first. Then see if you have another leak.
If you are not leaking from radiator and hose, it could be leaking into the engine - which is more serious problem. You can take a look at oil level and condition of the oil (oil mixed with water appears to be milky)

Fix That leak or you won't have an engine left!
.
If that hose is the source of the leak, replace it!
It's not hard to do, a new hose, two new clamps and two gallons of anti-freeze.
Drain the radiator first when the engine is cold.
.
If the hose is not leaking, then you need to do a pressure test to find the leak.

you could easily due this yourself providing you have the tools mechanical aptitude and patience 1st you need to replace the lower radiator hose then the coolant recovery bottle then pressure test the system you can buy coolant pressure tester at most auto parts stores another option is to have a shop diagnose all the leaks then do the work yourself.gl2u man.I hope you do not have a cracked head do you have white smoke coming out your exhaust? or coolant in the oil? if so you probably need a motor.
